Went off to the Easter Show yesterday with Brian, Chris, Belinda and Fiona. I missed out last year, as I was in London at the time. Nothing much has changed at the Show, but it’s one of those places you just have to visit, even if it’s only once a year.
We started out at the Food Hall, sampling candied nuts, yogurt, ice cream, chocolate fudge, tea and wine. Then we saw the cat and dog shows, and watched the horses being put through their paces.
The arts and crafts were apparently a step up from last year. These, believe it or not, are cakes. Cakes in the shape of sushi.
I prevented Belinda from buying RM Williams boots, and talked her into an attractive pair of black suede cowboy boots. Line dancing jokes flew thick and fast, but those boots really suit her.
As usual, we went on the old ferris wheel, which has just celebrated its 40th birthday. You get a good view of the flooded brick quarry next to the showground. There are geocaches there, apparently.
