The iPhone is coming out in Australia.
I'm not getting one until:
1. My iPod and/or phone conks.
2. The iPhone capacity exceeds my iPod - 30 gig. Sixteen gig is the current capacity.
3. I can buy outright. No monthly bill slavery for me!

They nearly caught me, until I realised I'd have to give them my e-mail address...
I'm talking about a new social networking site that shall remain nameless because they don't deserve promotion. They contacted me through Flickr, asking for permission to use one of my pictures:
People have used my images before. ...

As Diane's web space on Dreamhost wasn't letting me FTP, I've moved all my sites to Hostgator, which I chose after seeing which web hosting company got the best reviews.
No real complaints so far, though my 91 meg database table file took two goes to upload. I'm currently uploading a ...

Maybe it's the upcoming NaNoWriMo 2007 artificially inflating the prices, but I just saw a second-hand Neo on eBay for US$198. That's only US$1 less than a brand new Neo with the NaNoWriMo discount.
As the three year warranty on new Neos must be worth more than US$1, the second-hand Neo ...

Just changed Charlotte's Web over to a theme called Big Blue 01. It has widgets (which I setup for the theme dotdotdot yesterday) and a pleasant, easy-to-read balance between space and words.
It also marks a blogging change. I'm not bothering with categories anymore. It's tags all the way ...

City-wide wireless broadband has finally come to London. It's been in Sydney, in the form of Unwired and iBurst, for years.
It's called www.now.com and it's only available in the West End at the moment.

Celebrated the launch of BlueBoomerang.com, Haymarket's new directory website, at a fabulous party at Debenham House, 8 Addison Road, London W14 8DJ.
What a mansion! It was covered, inside and out, in opalescent blue-green tiles and it was utterly beautiful. The entrance hall was domed and had a ceiling covered ...

My credit cards aren't visible on netbank anymore since they've been cancelled. How am I supposed to find out how much I owe now?
Oh well, at least I have a few weeks to find out how to access them again.

My e-mail is downloading. And downloading, and downloading...I must have 200 new e-mails by now. I finally managed to get wireless internet for my laptop - at a Starbucks for 5 pounds an hour or 45 pounds a month. London doesn't seem to have wireless ISPs, like Unwired in Sydney. ...

I applied for Google Adsense a few days ago and I got it this morning. I had some ads up on my site within 5 minutes. I was able to choose colours that went with the rest of my site. I approve of the ads that Google has selected. They're ...

I'm chatting to Chris using Skype for the first time. The sound is a bit garbled, Chris says I sounded like a harp occasionally, probably due to signal drop out. But it's pretty good for a free phonecall.

From ZDNet:
Some industry insiders to believe that Apple is working on an online movie store and a video playback device that does for movies what iTunes and the iPod have already done for music.
Good. I'm glad to hear Apple will do for videos what it has done for digital ...

Chris just sent me a Google Map of Mooney Mooney, where we found Hook, Line and Sinker geocache.
I also found my local area.
If I go in any closer, I get an error message saying closer photos do not exist. But I'm still very impressed.
I'm tempted to put little dots ...

Belinda told me about the Dr Who books that are available free online.
Unfortunately, they seem to have been scanned and designed by someone unfamiliar with screen readability. The font choice is poor, and the wrong size. The lack of a margin means you have to run your eyes back and ...

I’m having fun with OSX Tiger’s Dashboard widgets.
There are free downloadable widgets available for almost anything. It reminds me of 1996, when the Internet was a free, safe supermarket of every kind of software imaginable.
In the late 90s, I downloaded a screensaver of animated macaroni dancing the Macarena. I ...

From PaulGraham.com:
The math is brutal. While perhaps 9 out of 10 startups fail, the one that succeeds will pay the founders more than 10 times what they would have made in an ordinary job. [2] That's the sense in which startups pay better "on average."
Remember that. If you start a ...

Once they could only keep phoning you and checking your letter box...
From The Sydney Morning Herald:
